The education system in the US is under growing scrutiny these days, but along with that scrutiny, the beloved Mr. Rogers has made a comeback. His passion for child education is clear and his dedication towards children learning compassion, empathy, and self-love is evident in his program. The Pillars Christian Learning Center understands that children do spend time watching television programs but encourage these shows to be educational. Our child care center’s priority is your children’s development. Here are some lessons everyone can learn from Mr. Rogers and that we try to implement on a daily basis.
“I like you, just the way you are.”
We all see differences in each other on the outside, but learning to like and love someone is far more than what we can observe on the outside. When we all get to know the insides is when true compassion starts to emerge. Our faith-based education strives to teach children to get to know someone on a deeper level. Look beyond what color hair they have, or what they are wearing, but who they are as individuals.
“There are three ways to ultimate success: The first way is to be kind. The second way is to be kind. The third way is to be kind.”
Learning how to relate to others doesn’t always come naturally and children often have to learn how to get along with those around them. Sharing a pair of scissors, letting another child borrow a jacket, or giving a child a hug when they are crying are actions that show kindness. Through being kind to others children can learn that real life success comes from having strong relationships with people that is built on kindness.
“The world needs a sense of worth and it will achieve it only by its people feeling that they are worthwhile.”
Children who learn early that they are talented and have a lot of potential will ultimately grow to be confident and strong young adults. There are many ways in which children can learn that they are worthwhile and many of them come from the adults in their lives. Our child care center’s educators work to encourage each of our students to become confident children who will learn that they are worthwhile, no matter what their individual talents are.
“The more you learn, the better feeling you have about yourself and the world we live in.”
The world is a big place and has a lot of different people coexisting with each other. It takes a lot of learning and awareness to realize this, but the more children learn about the world around them, the more they will be able to appreciate the differences in each other that make each person beautiful and unique. The Pillars want to focus on giving your children an education that goes beyond numbers and reading from textbooks but also dives into how the world works and how to be successful in it.
Taking lessons from various sources, students at our child care center will learn to care for those around them as well appreciate their own talents. Our day care strives to make an impact on every child with a traditional education and through life lessons from Mr. Rogers. Schedule a tour today to learn more about our facility.
